HISTORY OF INDIAS CULTURE


Ancient civilization in India reveals marvelous facts about our heritage. Indian culture is also about respecting elders, honoring heroes and cherishing love. It is a land of aspirations, achievements and self reliance.

VALUES IN INDIA
The values in India is about living life with a zest and observing the belief that there is one God prevailing despite so many religions. Respecting elders, understanding cross culture traditions, free mingling to accommodate tolerance, staying interested in rural welfare are the values of India. The artifacts, cuisine handicrafts, attire and lifestyle of the rural folks is still followed and preserved by Indians.

RELIGION
India is a story, a legend, folklore and an anecdote in itself. All the major religions thrive in India and none of them have ever felt insecure or unprotected. Thats the beauty of the land. Religious beliefs are in tune with our traditional way of living and we as staunch believers still believe in following the rules and customs. LANGUAGE
With distinct boundaries, India seems to have many dialects, conversational linguistics and also scripts. Languages are the beauty of India. Languages are owing to states and also the dialects get formed due to vagabonds or border situations. There are other languages like Bhotia, Gondi, Chang, Konyak and Pawi among others which are non scheduled languages in India.

CLOTHES
The traditional Indian Dhoti, the Scarf or Uttariya, and the popular Turban are still visible India and continue to be part of Indian fashion. Worn in varied styles, it is a long piece of flat cotton, silk or other fabric woven in different textures with different patterns. Another popular attire of women in Indian clothing is the Indian salwar-kameez. ~ comfortable and respectable garment for women in Kashmir and Punjab region, but is now immensely popular in all regions of India. Men in Indian villages are still more comfortable in traditional attire like kurtas, lungis, dhotis and pyjamas.

FESTIVALS
Festivals of India are characterized by color, gaiety, enthusiasm, prayers and rituals. Diwali, the popular festival of Indians, celebrates the return of Lord Rama and Sita from exile. ~ also called as the festival of lights. ~ usually falls between 15th October and 15th November. It is celebrated For the Hindus there is diwali, for the Muslims there is id, for the Christians its Christmas and for the Parsis its the New Year and also the republic day and the Independence Day.

Dusshera in India is another festival celebrated by the Hindus. ~ marks the victory of good over evil. Ramzan Id is the most important festival in the Muslim calendar. ~ A month long fasting and prayers is followed by Ramzan Id. ~ Its said that during this month all the prayers and wishes of an individual comes true. Holi is another festival that is celebrated by all communities. ~ Its a festival of colours
