Bath University is currently the best University in the country for

2011/12. It is campus to some of the best athletes in the world, with the likes of Dai Green (400m hurdler) and Jason Gardner(Sprinter) training their. Even Dennis Bergkamp (Footballer) went to University there. Two thirds of Bath's professional athletes are ranked in the top ten nationally, including over a third in the top five! Bath University offer a wide range of facilities, including; 25m & 50m swimming pools, 110m indoor track, Indoor throwing and jumping sports hall, Dojo, Astroturf, Sports Hall, Weights room, Sports Hall (for Badminton, netball etc.). You can find most sports at the University like Basketball, Netball, Badminton, Tennis, Judo, Karate, Jitsu, Football, Rugby Union, Field Hockey, Lacrosse, and American Football to name a few. Bath University currently has 13,959 students attending, with 9,913 of them undergraduates and 4,046 of them postgraduates.

Judo athletes have access to world class facilities at Bath

University For starts, they have access to a new state-of-the-art Dojo built especially for them. As well as this, they have a running track outside and inside for fitness training. They will also use the weights room a minimum of three times a week. They will have access to the physio and medical treatment centre. Also, a caf is available for lunch.

Judo at Bath University only has one head coach, Juergen Klinger,

although he has assistant coaches aiding him. To be a Judo coach, you dont need a degree of any sort, just experience. The coaches will always give the athletes exercises to complete every training session. Juergen Klinger is the head coach for Judo and does everything himself. He provides leadership and experience to the assistant coaches, as well as expert coaching to athletes. He was the regional coach for Lower Saxonie from 1982 2004; he was a coach at the Olympic Training Centre in Hannover from 1990 2004 and was Assistant coach for the German Judo Federation from 1990 2005. Juergen has been a coach since 1979 and came to Team Bath in 2006 where he became Judo head coach. He originally coached in Cologne, Germany, which is also where he got his coaching academic degree. Famous Judo players he has coached are Stefan Freudenberg, Frank Wieneke, Anja von Rekowki and Katrin Beiroth. His method in teaching is very effective, because he does everything himself (coaching, strength + conditioning etc.) so he knows what level the athlete is at and what to do to help him/her improve.

therapists and practitioners that can offer them cutting edge services. Also, physiotherapy, sports massage, strength & conditioning, physiological & fitness testing, video analysis, sports psychology, sports nutrition, injury problems, health & fitness, recreational sportspeople & clubs, elite athletes & professional clubs and corporate services.
Juergen, the Judo coach said that he uses Strength &

Conditioning, but does it himself.


This effectives the performance of the Judo athletes a lot and

helps them to improve their game from the training methods, technique, progression and programme planning. S+C training is done one-to-one with coach and athlete to help maximise the training and sports performance.

Judo have recently been given 7.6 million

funding from UK Sport, with another 1.3 million given to its Paralympic programme. This forms part of the 292 million given to Sports in the UK by UK Sport ahead of the London Olympics.

Bath University provide world class facilities and

training programs for Judo players to help them in their quest to become worlds best. They have a world class coach aiding them as well. The facilities on show for Judo players are one of the best in Europe and the best in the UK. A gym is available with every piece of equipment imaginable, as well as a newly built Dojo to train in. The track is also used for sprinting drills. Judo players at Bath University are more likely to go on and become world class players because of the facilities available.

Badminton is one of many sports played at Bath University. They host one of Badminton Englands two High Performance Centres. They also have an impressive track record of developing players that have gone on to represent England at senior level. Bath University have hosted international and national competitions. The state of the art facilities (sprung wood floors in both the main Sports Hall and the Founders Hall) are ideal for performance players and are perfect as a venue for badminton tournaments at all levels. Bath University have many facilities that badminton

players can use. They have 3 large indoor sports hall where badminton courts can be set up for their use. The gym is also available for their use when needed. The caf is available for lunch. Also, the physio and medical treatment centre is available for injury treatment.

One coach at Bath University is Peter Bush and is the

Head Badminton Coach. He was born in 1967 in Bradford-on-Avon, Wiltshire. He has previously coached Richard Vaughan, who is world no.15 and Commonwealth games bronze medallist (2002). He also coached Nick Kidd who was National Mens singles champion. When a player, he was English number 2 in 1993, and world number 31 in 1991. His coaching is very effective as he gets the players to work on weaknesses and gives different exercises to injured players. He works in partnership with the high performance centre. Strength + Conditioning and Physio are combined to make more of an effect.

Badminton players have available to them, highly

trained therapists to help overcome injuries and keep them fit between training and competitions. They also have access to the sports nutritionists who can give them advise on what to eat and when to work with the athletes demand of training. This all helps them to get physically ready for competitions as they are treating their bodies right.

Badmintons 2012 program for elite athletes

has been awarded 8.6 million funding from UK Sport. This is to help development of these players. It is also for development in participation leading up to London 2012, trying to involve more people in Badminton.

Bath University provide state of the art facilities and

training programs for Badminton players to help them become worlds best and get the gold medal at major competitions (like London Olympics 2012). They have a world class coaches aiding them in that journey. The facilities on show for Badminton players are one of the best in Europe and the UK. Access to facilities such as the gym large sports halls help them massively to train and keep fit. Badminton players at Bath University very likely to go on and become world class players because of the facilities available to them. All around, sport at Bath University is one of the best in

Europe and offer world class services in all sports played their. This is mainly because they hire the most experienced coaches who know what they need to for that sport. Bath University offer sport for everyone; recreational players, young people, students and performance athletes. Their Sports Training Village is known as one of the best in the UK. They also offer state of the art facilities for a range of sports, including Athletics, Badminton, Football, Judo, Netball and many more. Facilities include swimming pool, athletics track, indoor sports halls, shooting range, dojo, and many more. The University attracts a lot of talented athletes, like Dai Green, Amy Williams. Even Dennis Bergkamp was a student there. So overall, Id say they have one of the best Universitys in Europe with all the features and coaches available for you.
