1. S/W Download Flow Chart
Start • Use Window 98/Window Me (for Window 2000, necessary to install drive)
• Make a directory, “DTV_Download”, in “C” Drive of window explorer.
PC Setting • Save all attached files from division in this directory.
(DTV_intf.exe, lgdtvup.enc, win2000.inf, Software File by Model : *.pac, *.phc, *.jbc)

Execute Program • Execute DTV_intf.exe in “DTV_Download” Directory.

• Check whether a item to download is CPU or EPLD and select a proper jig.
Choose Item
• For CPU(Rom) - RS-232C • For EPLD - Byte Blaster
CPU EPLD

Connect PC with Set Connect PC with Set

(use Jig for CPU) (use Jig for EPLD)

Select Model Name Select Model Name • Select a model name.

Select Service Select Service • Select Service among Laboratory/Service/Product Line.

Check Connection(Port1) Check Connection(Port1) • Select Check Connection to see Communication is “Ok”.

Download Rom Download EPLD • Select “Rom” Download for CPU and “EPLD” Download for EPLD.

• Check that the New Software is normally downloaded.

EPLD & CPU S/W for DTV drive.

2) screen classification : Main > Interface

① select a model

Click on the dropdown list so models are displayed and select a model
And in ROM File and EPLD File, the file name is automatically displayed by selecting a model.

※ Environment file(lgdtvup.enc): In fact it has the info by model as below but for security, we can not see this info in PC
due to file encryption.

3) screen classification : Main > department category

① Service

It has the function as below.

- EPLD Download : Download EPLD related S/W. File Type is jbc.
- Connection Check : Check the connection between Set and PC to download CPU S/W.
- Version Check : Before downloading CPU S/W, able to compare current version with the latest version.
( Latest Version : Latest CPU S/W Version , Set Version :Set CPU S/W Version connecting to PC )

- ROM Download : After checking the version, use this to download CPU S/W. And without checking others, it is
possible to complete the download only with this button.

* In the service department, there is no chance to use Laboratory or Product Line.

4) screen classification : Main > Communication

① Communication
• Connection : check the connection between PC & Set.
• PORT : change Port . Default is COM1.
• Baud Rate : general baud rate is 57600 and it is changed automatically when downloading in accordance with CPU type.
( 1st generation: 57600, 2nd generation : 115200 )

5) Others (Download status & Communication contents)

4. Precaution of EPLD Download

1) User operating system & Download cable check

<window before downloading EPLD > < Message of Download cable & operating system>

1) Windows 98 user:
- do not have to install drive, check the cable for EPLD S/W Download and click on ‘OK’ in the message box.

2) Windows 2000 user:

- must install driver, see the next page to install driver.

4. Precaution of EPLD Download

2) Driver Installation Procedures (Windows 2000 user)

Follow the below procedures.

• Open the Control Panel (start menu -> setting ->control panel).
• To start the Add/Remove Hardware Wizard, double click on the Add/Remove Hardware icon and
click Next to continue.
• In the Hardware Task Panel, select the Add tool/Troubleshoot radio button and click Next to
continue.
( Windows 2000 will search for the new Plug –in-Play hardware)
• In the Select Hardware Device, select Add New Device and click Next to continue..
• Select “No, I want to select the hardware from the list’ and click on the radio button and click
Next to continue.
• In the Hardware Type window, select sound, vide and game controller and click Next to continue.
• In the Select Device Driver window, click Have Disk.
• In the Install Disc window, set the whole path of win2000.inf( ex. \DTV_Upgrade) and click Confirm.
• In the ‘Digital Signature not found’ dialogue box, click Yes.
• In the Select Device Driver window, select Altera ByteBlaster and click Next.
• In the Start Hardware Installation window, click Next.
• In the Digital Signature Not Found dialog box, click Yes to continue the installation.
• In the Competethe Add/Remove Hardware Wizard window, click Finish.
• Reboot the system to apply the new settings.
