Before writing books, he was a completely different kind of writer: a programmer who helped write the tax software used by some of the world’s largest corporations. He calls programming “casting mystical spells over silicon chips.”
Wynn created Opus-CBCS, a computer bulletin board system that was wildly popular in the 1980s. Opus generated millions of dollars for HIV and AIDS, back when almost nobody was helping fund research or caring for those suffering from the disease.
He wrote an article called "HIV: Day One" for those who just learned they have HIV, which has been one of the most widely read pieces on HIV ever written.
Wynn is an archbishop in the Old Catholic Church. When asked about being a cleric who writes explicit novels about gay vampires, he told an interviewer that it is "a previously undocumented niche."
Before programming and writing, Wynn was in radio as a disc jockey and newscaster in Texas and in New York. Before that, he was a pimply-faced teenager in Fort Worth.view less
