Breandán Delap was born in Gaoth Dobhair in 1965. He received a a degree in Education from Our Lady of Mercy College, Carysfort and a Master’s degree in Irish from The National Uni...view moreBreandán Delap was born in Gaoth Dobhair in 1965. He received a a degree in Education from Our Lady of Mercy College, Carysfort and a Master’s degree in Irish from The National University of Ireland, Maynooth. He is a programme editor for Nuacht TG4 / RTÉ and a reviewer of plays for The Irish Times in the West of Ireland. He is currently living in An Spidéal. Breandán was the first editor of Foinse from 1996 to 2003. He was awarded ‘Iriseoir na Bliana’ under the ESB National Media Awards in 2003 for the investigation he did into sexual assaults in summer schools over a twenty year period. He was been awarded an IFTA Award in 2000 for his programme, Mad Dog Coll, and has also won the main prize in the printed media category at Oireachtas 1998 and again at Oireachtas 2010. The European Council named him as an expert in 2011 and charged him with assisting a communications project for minority languages in the Russian Federation.view less
